Speaker Showcase

We have two amazing speakers lined up for the weekend!

Sam Smith is a writer, a former executive editor of Road & Track, and an amateur racing driver. Over a 20-year career, he has tested nearly every Lotus road model built, kit-built two Caterham Sevens, written for The New York Times, hosted TV for NBC Sports, and qualified on the front row at England’s Goodwood Revival. He once owned both an Elan S2 and a carbureted Caterham and misses both cars very much.

Russell Carr has been a car fanatic his entire life and at Lotus since 1990. Over the past decade he led the design teams working on the Evora, Evija, and Emira. Currently he and his team are hard at work on the next great sportscar to come from Lotus.

Getting to LOG 43, Better Together

Don’t wait until you get to Austin to start the fun: join-up with fellow LOG attendees to caravan together. Its a great way to meet other enthusiasts and fellow owners that know what travelling in a LOTUS for long distances require.
And with Austin located near the middle of the country, we expect lots of amazing roads and scenery for those that make the trek by car. What will you take in on your way to Austin?
LOG 43 Guided Drives: Driving Central Texas

What’s better than a guided drive through Central Texas and the Hill Country? How about two of them!

Included for attendees of LOG 43, you’ll get the local treatment as we explore some of the favorite roads, sights, and amenities of LOOT on Saturday and Sunday. And each run has also been designed to work with the main events of LOG, so enjoy the ride!

Both drives have been planned and will be led by Driving Adventures USA (DA USA) which has put on 137 driving tours over 19+ years in Texas, Colorado, and Arkansas.

(Each participant, driver and passenger(s), will need to digitally sign a DA USA liability waiver prior to the drive.  For your safety and to participate in the banter, it is recommended that you bring a FRS/GMRS radio.)

Saturday: Marble Falls and the Hill Country

We have prepared an exciting and unforgettable drive through the Texas Hill Country on some of the most scenic and curvy roads near Austin.  The drive will start following the concours on Saturday in Marble Falls.  Our 161-mile driving adventure will include some of the most twisty and scenic roads specially-picked for their fun factor, with lots and lots of elevation changes, some of which will make you giggle or scream (or both)!  We don’t call it the Texas Hill Country for nothing.  There will be two restroom/social breaks at scenic locations.

Sunday: Lime Creek, Mosing garage, COTA and F1 track

Today’s early morning tour will start at the hotel and end at the world-famous F1 track, the Circuit of the Americas in time for the Parade Lap opportunity.  Our 82-mile route will include some of the most scenic roads in Austin including a fantastically curvy road known only to local car enthusiasts.  There will be two restroom/social breaks, one of which will be at the large and impressive personal car collection of our good friend, Jeff Mosing.

Bonus: Photos of the drive will be captured by Jeff Harlan (check him out @limecreekroad on Instagram and facebook)
