Autocross is a timed set of runs, where drivers navigate a pylon lined course as fast as they can safely go, in pursuit of the lowest elapsed time. The event for LOG 43 will be located in Marble Falls, TX at the High School Stadium parking lot, and is being run by Lotus, Ltd. in partnership with Golden Gate Lotus Club. This parking lot is flat, wide, and very suitable for testing the limits of your Lotus (or other sportscar) in a safe environment. No experience is necessary!

Experienced autocrossers will enjoy the challenge of a new course and can also help new drivers. New autocrossers will be learning the skill of “finding the line” and matching their advanced planning and visualization of the course with execution.

We will have two run groups and all participants are required to work during the event when their run group is not active.  Most will be corner workers which involves shagging cones, flagging drivers, and reporting cone hits.  Others will work the grid, help with timing, or manage starting cars.

What do I need to bring?

• Drivers need a helmet that meets the Snell SA or M standard.  The current standards are SA2020 and M2020, but helmets that meet the year 2015 will be allowed.
  • We will have loaners, but bringing your own is encouraged. No helmet, no driving.
• Tech inspection – you can have a shop do it or self tech (form to be provided)

Other:

• NOTE: remove all items from the car. If your floor mats are not secure, remove those too.
• Can you take a passenger? Yes if its a more experienced autocross and/or instructor. If you are a novice, the last thing you need is your passenger distracting you.
• Normal 3 point seat belt is ok but if you have a harness then please use it with 5 or 6 point. A 3 point belt won’t hold you in very well as you toss around – you will invariably be bracing yourself and may not even realize it.
